BREAKING
DOWN
BARRIERS.

For more than thirty years we have utilized our family resources, brought about by hard work and free markets, to support high quality organizations that can make positive change in peoples lives.

CHANGING
LIVES.

As an independent, self-funded charitable organization, we believe in breaking down barriers to help people reach their full potential–whether through access to the best education, a just legal system, proper medical care or exposure to the arts; we are committed to investing in social institutions and creating connections that can change lives.

The center brings together faculty and students at Duke University in law, medicine, public policy, and arts and sciences to pursue research, policy and law reform, and education to improve criminal justice outcomes. The three main areas of focus are: accuracy in criminal cases, equity in criminal outcomes, and behavioral health needs. The center’s work is non-partisan and evidence-informed.

Stand Together

Tackling complex societal problems requires a comprehensive approach. Stand Together is the organization that serves as the backbone of these efforts. We work with partner organizations who take the lead on driving efforts within each key institution of society including Education, Business, Communities, and Government.
